I went to the Convention and Visitors Bureau for Geary county on Washington Street. There were nice and helpful people there. I got loaded up with free maps and things. The free booklet they gave me listed 13 hotels in the area. There is also camping at Milford lake. You can contact them for this same information by email at jccvb@flinthills.com or go to the web site www.junctioncity.org .

I scanned a news item from the July 31, 2002 edition of the Emporia Gazette. It is about FREE camping at Milford lake near Junction City. The free campsites include garden plots, utilities, and sheds. The only requirement is that you exchange some volunteer labor for the camp spot.
