Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Visit KC 3-4 times per year and noted hotel as it was being built. Closer to area that I'm interested in, so have stayed at hotel every year since. Wanted to switch hotels three years ago but the rest of the group thought it might be too cumbersome a process. Towels are thin, bed linens scratchy and have burn holes. Loud freeway noise, can hear people walking down the hallway! Hotel started overbooking and using the story of switching to a 'new computer system' to explain why reservations aren't in system. This year called three times and stopped in the last time I was in town to confirm reservation. Arrived 4 days after confirming yet again to find nothing in their system, they can't locate the manager and they won't do anything to rectify or compensate. Went to another hotel - which reported a steady stream of other people who's reservations were 'lost' by Microtel. Then the Microtel lost their air conditioning system and their cleaning people must have taken off because they were offering rooms at $69 if you made your own bed!!! Unheard of! I called Microtel corporate and they said this hasn't been a Microtel for over a year, yet they're still listed on the company's website and still have the signage! So corporate wouldn't take responsibility either.
Unique Quality: Everything is ghastly.
Directions: padlocked resturant next door, with grass popping up in the parking lot.
