Ernie Miller Park and Nature Center
"The Nature Center"
Ernie Miller Nature Center provides a laboratory for nature education and appreciation. It is open year-round and staffed by park rangers and naturalists. It is a popular destination for school field trips.
"Home to a lot of frogs"
This small pond sits alongside the Bittersweet Trail.
"It must be April..."
if the Eastern Redbud trees are in bloom. They are a sure sign that the deciduous trees will be covered with leaves within a couple of weeks. Redbuds grow wild in the forests of this area, but the really pretty ones with the most flowers are those cultured and sold at nursery centers.
"Stream through the woods"
This stream, quiet most of the time, cuts through the middle of the park.
"Wildflowers"
Wildflowers are plentiful in the park - especially in late spring through summer. In mid-April this was about the only species in bloom.
