A new local custom.

This very large statue is now on top of the government building in Topeka. Before it went in to position it was taken by semi-truck to many cities in Kansas for people to see. Touching the statue became a lucky gesture. Good luck to touch it if you see it. It will be high above you.

Coyote Canyon is one of my new favorite places to eat. Great food at a great price. They have steak on the buffet. All the steak you can eat for one low price. I was just there and ate 5 steaks along with every thing else.
Great buffet place with all the steak you can eat. During weekdays for lunch I think the buffet is only $5.79. Steaks are not bad. They are not filet mignon but are still good. Huge variety on salad bar. Try the mini buns for dessert.
Topeka, Kansas

"Capitol of the State of Kansas"
Slightly more than an hour west of the Kansas City metropolitan area is Topeka, site of the state capitol and its many state office buildings.
Other places worthy of note in Topeka include the outstanding state historical museum, Ward-Meade Historical Park, Gage Park Zoo, the governor's mansion, a combat air museum, Gage Park with a zoo and a restored carousel, and many more.
I will be adding more photos and comments to this page as time goes by.
