Topeka has lots of parks. As you drive around town you will notice one park after another. Lake Shawnee is one of the biggest. One of my favorite parks is at the corner of Huntoon and Topeka boulevard. It has a large bird statue of a wren.
The Reinisch Rose Garden, located in Topeka's famed Gage Park, has been a city landmark since 1930. More than 400 varieties of roses are represented in the gardens, totaling in excess of 6,500 plants. Not surprisingly, it is a popular wedding spot.
Who would think that your would find a building that looks like Independence Hall in the Middle of the United States. The Tower Building at the Menninger Foundation is an exact copy of that building.
Or how about a full size train in a world class Museum. The Kansas Historical Society maintains the Kansas Museum where the only admission is a donation.
Come and visit the Capital, and while there walk across the street to the Presbyterian Church and View the Tiffany Stained Glass Windows. The only place West of the Mississippi where you can see the beauty of the glass.
