    Excellent restaurant / bar (Flyers) area, first class business area with free internet faciliities.

    Hotel well situated for shops, food outlets the main highways and of course the airport.

    This was a home built in the late 1800s to resemble a castle. It is a fully restored inn with a carriage house and excellent accomodations.

    • Stayed in a two double-bed room. The room was clean, the bathroom worked fine, and the bed was decent. The room was quiet. The room was a little worn. The TV reception was poor on about a third of the channels and the carpet had some holes in it.

    Appears to have an indoor pool (didn't go) and a restaurant. You can walk to some shopping, probably a quarter of mile across big parking lots.

    • Service was outstanding from front desk to the maintenance man who went out of his way to say good morning. Upscale Clean comfortable suites, great breakfast and dining room.

    The area is full eclectic shopping and dining. Or enjoy the evening on the large patio over looking the waterfront water features.

    • This Howard Johnson's Express Motel is really a good value, at least on our most recent stays. Nancy and I have stayed at cheaper motels in the Wichita area, but to be honest, they always seemed a little trashy. This has proven to be always well-maintained, fairly inexpensive, and not too far from the interstate, airport, eating places, or downtown.

    Two minor drawbacks: 1. It is near the airport; however, Wichita's airport is not very busy at night, so the noise is bearable. 2. It's kind of hard to get to, as the exits off of Kellogg/US-54 are very confusing.

    • I think I paid only something like $75, not counting tax. I was pleasantly surprised it was so low, especially because the economy was booming nationally and locally at the time.

    We stayed here for our 3rd anniversary. The rooms are all different and beautifully decorated. We stayed in "The Royal Court," the biggest guest room in the castle.

    Great view of the river from the turret. Breakfast is yummy. In-room Jacuzzis.

    The hotel has a lot of potential, but lacks a bit of sparkle. The room was fine with a large TV as standard. The free breakfast consists of a choice waffles, biscuits & gravy, bagels, fresh fruit, cereal, pastries, etc. Whilst the hotel restaurant was not open there were very good restaurants next door (see other tips) and they did serve snacks in the bar.
