The All American Indian Center...
by jhawk1000
The All American Indian Center in Wichita is a great cultural resource for all Americans. The large building is used for indoor events, dances, etc and houses a museum and gift shop. Tuesdays mark lunches of Indian Tacos for Wichitans. During several occasions, the grounds of the Indian Center are full of Native Americans at the Pow-wows. Great culture, not just for the tourists and a proud people show the world their lifestyles both past and present. In the rear of the property, at the confluence of the Big Arkansas and Little Arkansas Rivers stands a wonderful monument to the Native American people designed by Blackbear Bosin--who was a favorite local artist. It is particularly beautiful at sunset and this was captured by my wife, Linda.
Nu Way Cafe
by AcornMan about Nu Way Cafe
Nu Way Cafe is a curious place that specializes in burgers and fries with a twist. the twist is that their burgers, rather than being served in traditional patty form, are actually crumbly. I've never been anywhere else that serves burgers like this, but it's a really interesting way to eat a burger. And it must be popular, because Nu Way has been around since the 1930s. One of the best things about this place is that it serves excellent homemade root beer, so don't miss your chance to drink one with your meal. There are several locations around the city.
