Wichita Tip
by Carnation
You must go and have a look inside this steam train. Standing inside gives you a feeling of nostalgia and a lot of power. When I think how they built these machines without the kind of technology we have today! Very impressive, very impressive indeed! You can feel the power this steam train had when it was up and running in its heyday.
Steakhouse and Grill
by grayfo about Timberline
The steak was very tender, the service was efficient and the waitress attentive.
May 2009 10 Oz Ribeye (Medium Rare) served with double fries. They also do a 16 Ounce but the 10 oz was more than adequate. $16.99
A must see museum- Museum of World Treasures
by kschatterbox
This place is one of the best Museum's that Wichita has to offer. You can spend hours inside looking at each and everything. Giver yourself at least 3 hours time to visit the whole place.
First floor: Exhibits the Ancient World, beginning with the 'Age of the Dinosaurs'. Over a dozen actual fossils including a very dramatic battling dinosaur display on a cliff, an authentic Triceratops and a huge killer Tyrannosaur Albertosaurus.
Dont miss the treasures from Egypt, Greece and Rome. You will see Ancient weapons, 2 Royal Egyptian mummies and much more!
Second Floor: Hall of Presidents, Hall of Royals, and of course the Hall of Military!
You will see some royal gold jewelry, swords, coins. The Hall of Presidents is filled with treasures from colonial America to the present, and shows actual autographs and pictures of all 43 American Presidents, and yes, even a lock of George Washington's hair!
