On Douglas street coming in to old town there is a place to drive under a railroad track. Beside this tunnel is a door that says 'Museum Upstairs'. It is a museum about trains. Go up the stairs and out into the railroad area and there are neat old trains parked there. We had fun climbing on the locomotovies and cabooses. It costs $3.50 to go inside but is worth it for any one who likes trains.

Exploration place is fun for young people and those who are young at heart.
It has many hands on things for kids to do and learn. My favorite thing was the movie we watched from seats that moved in accord with what was happening on the screen. If you are watching a scene of a motorcycle speeding down the road your seat would tilt right or left just like the motorcycle would during a turn.
Wichita

A BIG WARM WELCOME TO WICHITA, KANSAS
If you are going to visit North America then try some out of the way places and avoid the usual tourist areas. Make friends with the locals and enjoy the scenery while passing through.I find them very warm and friendly and treat you as one of their own especially in Wichita, Kansas. This is where I have family living, namely my sister, her husband and my two nieces. Wichita has become a second home to me because I have been so many times.
This is the place of open praeries and bison, cowboys and cowgirls, sunflowers....national flower of Kansas, and the red Cardinal bird is a common feature in the area. Big, wide open space, lots of space.
Wichita lies right in the path of Tornado Alley
These are usually family based holidays and not touring holidays so I wont be able to advise you on where to stay, what to eat and where. But I can advise you to hire a car or motor trailer, get your self a map and just go explore! I just about ate anything I could, from takeaway burgers to pizzas, tacos to chinese. There are so many places you can stop, rest and eat at any time of day or night. Compared to where I live in England, America is very big, the roads are big, the shops are big, everything is just so much bigger, even the smiles and welcomes! I have made many friends in Wichita but that isn't surprising, because they are so open and warm that you just can't help being a part of their lives. Then again, this is the home of The Wizard Of Oz......
