THE SHOCKER BASEBALL STADIUM
We have Mcconnell Air Force Base which is a closed base and must have military ID to get in.
McConnell Air force Base, named in honor of Wichita natives, Fred and Thomas McConnell, is home of the 22nd Air Refueling Wing and the 184th Bomb Group.
Red, Hot & Blue is a restaurant chain with locations in ten states, with two locations in Wichita (you guessed it, one on the east side and one on the west side). In recent years Wichita seems to have accumulated quite a lot of BBQ joints, though this one is styled more like a traditional sit-down family restaurant rather than the more typical hole-in-the-wall buildings that BBQ joints tend to occupy. This jacks the prices up a bit, but the food is quite good. Besides, this is really you're only option if you want good BBQ in Wichita without venturing to some of the less prosperous parts of the city.
Well, long story short, I was born in Wichita, and am still here. I took a short break and moved to Manhattan, Kansas to attend school at Kansas State University. I now find myself back in the old homestead, and itching to find a way out.
WIchita is a great place, for families. My boyfriend put it best when he said that it's like a black hole, you get sucked in and you can't get out. Don't get me wrong. It is a good place, but not for anyone who is young.
There is much to do here in Wichita, but sometimes I find that I have done lots of it and I tire of the same old thing.
