With it being humid all the time make sure you are not caught wearing non breathable clothes!!
Also it is very windy here, so pack that hairspray!! Always have an umbrella in the car. Sometimes it could be 80 on Monday and on Tuesday (in the same week... as it was this week!) can be 40 or lower.
I realize that On the Border is a huge chain restaurant with locations all over the country, but it's still one of my favorite places for Tex-Mex food. Wichita has countless Mexican restaurants owned by immigrants who know how to make authentic south-of-the-border meals, but if you want something with more of a Tex-Mex influence this is still the best place.
A word of warning: On the Border is immensely popopular and can get extremely crowded on Friday and Saturday nights.
We have always had the Indian statue but last year they upgraded him by the new bridge and upraised the Indian and had added fire bins that light up each night at 8,9 and 10pm if the weather permits it.
