Travel Tips for Bowling Green

Visitor Center and Helpful Web Sites

by KimberlyAnn

Well, my favorite thing was seeing the cars, but I want to give you some help on places to find good information about Bowling Green, so I am putting it here as a "General Tip". You may obtain information about activities and businesses at the Bowling Green-Warren County Tourist and Convention Commission. This is located at 352 Three Springs Rd., Bowling Green, KY 42104. The tourist commission’s phone number is 207-782-0800 or 800-326-7465

The following web sites can be of help if you are planning a visit to Bowling Green. The official city site that will give you a wide range of information about Bowling Green is: www.bgky.org If you are interested in such things as motels, restaurants, and sites to see click their “Tourism” link as found on the right side of their home page. The web site for the Bowling Green Daily Newspaper is: www.bgdailynews.com Besides visiting the Corvette museum, there was a large albino squirrel in the campground, who was continually busy running up and down trees, and searching for something good to eat.

Beautiful Kentucy

by halloweengirl

"Why am I dancing?"

I am dancing because this is the Lost River Cave located in Bowling Green, Kentucky. In the 1940's and 50's (before air conditioning) this cave was home to a swinging nightclub. Due to the natural air conditioning of the cave it was a "hot spot" for all those wanting to dance to live music and drink alcohol. Bowling Green, Kentucky itself is a beautiful city with many things to do and places to eat. It is within driving distance of Nashville, Tennessee and was a fine place to visit.

"Want to get married?"

The cave is now used for weddings, reunions and other gatherings. It is unusual in that, as you can see from the picture, everything is carved from the rock, the bar, the stage for the band, the walls, but a beautiful chandalier is hanging from the ceiling.

"Cave Entrance"

The entrance to the cave is in a ravine next to the main building where you purchase tickets. A tour of the cave is availably by boat
