Lawrenceburg is a town of about 9,000 people in the bluegrass region of central Kentucky. It is the seat of Anderson County. Lawrenceburg, is located 23 miles west of Lexington, KY; 56 miles east of Louisville, KY; and 105 miles south of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Anderson County's is famous for its Kentucky bourbon. Before prohibition, there were 12 operating distilleries in the county. Now their are two: Wild Turkey and Four Roses.

Lawrenceburg is home to two of the State's nine active distilleries. While Wild Turkey is most known here, that distillery is not very pretty. Just south and west of Lawrenceburg is the Four Roses distillery. Most of the bourbon distilled at this location is sent to Japan. For bourbon lovers it is a real treat to get some Four Roses single barrel bourbon (not sold in the US). This distillery is very pretty and in a scenic location. It has been owned by Seagrams but currently a sale is in progress
