The Conrad-Caldwell House museum is so pretty. My daughter's Girl Scout Troop had a tea party there. They have tours available and also host weddings etc. It's located in 'Old Louisville' where some of the most beautiful old mansions are located (St. James Square)
Definite MUST SEE part of town. Central Park located very close. The museum has a website too.

The service here is wonderful, waiters always seem to know when to be around and when not to be. Makes for a wonderful evening for dinner and a bottle of wine, great way to unwind after a long day. Any of their daily specials, Chefs concocts some wonderful dishes. Try one of the farm raised venison dishes.
I think I may only have had pizza here, some years ago, but it certainly was good. It's in an old, brick building, with a nice, Italian atmosphere inside. The food is good, although I have to wonder how many times this place has been closed due to a recent fire.
Louisville grew as commercial riverboat traffic was forced to stop at the falls on the Ohio River. The best known Louisville symbol for this past is the steamboat "Belle of Louisville" which races every year during Kentucky Derby week with the Delta Queen. The Belle is the oldest operating steamboat in the nation. Cruises are available year round. Rates range from $12 to $32 for adults (the more expensive price includes a dinner cruise) with less expensive prices for senior adults and children. Taking a riverboat ride gives you a great view of the modern city while giving a taste of the days when steam boats were the primary means of transportation on the Ohio and Mississippi rivers.
Louisville has a large and quite expansive zoo. I especially hope you like the gorilla exhibit, as I worked on it!
