Travel Tips for Louisville

Visitors to Louisville should...

by JuliaL

Visitors to Louisville should definitely go to Bardstown Road, the 'Haight Ashbury' of Louisville. You'll find an eclectic mix of interesting little bistros and coffee shops, used book and antique shops, as well as art galleries and wonderful restaurants there.

Great ceviche, great atmosphere, great food!

by leeludalas about Seviche

Formerly Jicama Grill. Latin American cuisine. Different types of ceviche including crab, crawfish, lobster, and shrimp. Entrees include Pan-roasted Florida snapper garnished with grilled tiger shrimp and crispy fried leeks, Mahi mahi tacos in soft tortillas with shredded cabbage and lime aioli. Nice patio for warmer weather. Parking is available in the adjacent Ear X-tacy parking lot. Ask for the ceviche of the day. The best is a Hawaiian marlin served sushi grade with a wonderful gingery-fruit sorbet! Sounds wierd, but one of the best wierd combinations I've ever tried! The Mahi Mahi tacos are quite good as well.

Hooter's

by dzni about Hooter's

We all know about Hooter's, and it's definitely a chain. However, you gotta love their wings. They may be greasy and fried, but really, I think they're the best wings... dare I say, better than BW3 or A.J. Winger's!

No man can go to Louisville...

by dtsmith910

No man can go to Louisville and not go to the Louisville Slugger Museum. Your friends will never let you watch baseball again if you miss this one. You can get bats made with your name on it. They're great for controlling drunken friends while watching the game or just beating up Yankee fans. GO RED SOX!!

The Louisville Country Club is...

by John195123

The Louisville Country Club is an amazing place to visit. Membership to this EXclusive club is about $10,000 per person, plus you gotta know someone there to get in. But, you can still visit for free, if they don't kick you out. Dress nicely. I used to go there to meet a friend of mine who worked reception. I worked irrigation, so would be all dirty and sweaty when I walked in the door, getting some dirty looks from patrons. They were nice, though. To get to the country club, get on River Road, accessible from 42 (Wolf Pen Branch north) and I-71 (Zorn Avenue) Turn onto Indian Hills Way ( I think) and then turn right onto Country Club Drive. Follow the narrow road and watch for speed bumps.
