Our cycling tour booked a few cabins for a couple of nights, and although they were rustic (VERY thin sheets) and seemed to be decorated with memorabilia from someone's attic, we were more than pleased because the owners, Rocky and Lisa, were very accomodating and friendly, and to be honest, I'd have stayed there just for the chance to watch them in action--their accents, friendliness, interraction with locals--was worth it all. Total immersion into the culture.
The owners of Bayou Cabins make boudin and cracklins on the premises, and were interviewed by the show "Dirty Jobs." I'll let them tell you why.
