Upon arrival to Fort Polk You will most likely be directed to the Welsh Magnolia house. It is the main office for all temporay lodging on post. The hotel has three parts, the Magnolia house which is a basic hotel style, as well as two others buildings that are efficencys or apartments for larger families. We were assigned a double in the Magnolia house. The rooms were non smoking, no pets(Outdoor Kennel Provided) and contained kitchenettes. The cost was $38 per day and $3 per pet per stall in the kennal. We had daily room service and internet access in the lobby as well as cable service, VCR. DVD player and free local phone service.
Most guests at this hotel are awaiting housing on Fort Polk. The waiting time veries but at last check it was 3 to 6 weeks, so expect an extended stay. All Housing is conducted thru Picerne Construction. However note that you cannot sign up for housing untill you sign in to the inprossesing center. I suggest calling housing ahead to plan finacially for your stay......
