"Looking at schools"
George and I went tooling off to check out universities for a godchild. She wanted to go to SE La University so we went to Hammond for a couple of days to check it out. The city is a typical small southern town that just happens to have a big university on the outskirts. it doesn't seem to have been affected by the school's influx of students at all, and maintains a small town atmosphere.
The city still has to come into the 21st century though in a number of ways, and has to stop relying on being a "small town". For example, the schools are still segregated in this small town. It's just ridiculous that in this day and age, children are still separated by color. crazy!
