Good poboys & large selection
by CLillard about Julien's
I especially like their hot sauce, which they make homemade! This place has a very large selection of poboys. My coworkers had an oyster poboy and a "ragin cajun" poboy (ham boiled in crawfish boil) w/ lettuce, onions, and cheese.

The locals definitely eat here and the waitress had that Louisiana charm/edge to her. I had a spicy sausage poboy. Pretty good.

"Jean Lafitte National Historic Site"
One of the six parts of the Jean Lafitte National Historic Site, the Acadian Cultural Center, is in Lafayette. Inside the cultural center is a very nice museum that covers many aspects of the Acadian Culture, how they arrived in Louisiana, and their contributions to the life and culture of the state.
"Vermillionville"
Right next to the NHS is a place called Vermillionville, which is the original name for Lafayette. Vermillionville is a living history museum where they have moved and recreated a number of houses and other buildings showing how the Acadians/Cajuns lived upon first arriving in Louisiana and how they live today. There are a number of people here that dress in Cajun clothing and peform Cajun music, make handicrafts and do other things to aquaint you with the culture.
"Meet the Locals"
D'Jalma is the violin player for a popular band that plays Zydeco Music called Jeffery Broussard and the Creole Cowboys.
