When visiting Lafayette you must go to Randols for the food and music, its a little touristy, but its a must. Don's Seafood is a big must for the food.
Take a boat tour: www.angelleswhiskeyriver.com 'Gateway to the Atchafalia Basin'.
Lake Martin is also an excellent place to visit. The people are great, really friendly will show you where to visit etc

Blue Dog Cafe' The Award winning Crayfish Won tons were created by their resident chef are the best horderves Ive ever eaten and the Corn and Crab Bisque...yumm is the best $4.50 you can spend in Lafayette. Blue Dog Cafe is owned by Rodrigue an artist who paints almost exclusively blue dogs and Cajun scenes so his paintings fill the restaurant. The sunday brunch is the best in town.

"My Hometown"
Lafayette is the heart of Cajun Country. Beautiful bayous and close to the Gulf Of Mexico. The best foods ever, Crawfish, Shrimp, Oysters, Crab....and so on......and dont fergit Cajun Music!!! I spend most of my "off time" in my garage building a experimental airplane called a "Midget Mustang" It has a Lycoming engine and can cruise at 200 miles per hour.
