"Lake Chuck!"
Since I was born here and lived here the first 17 years of my life, I thought I should at least tell you about this place. Since I have left, the place has become a gambler's haven! I think there are now 4 riverboats/casinos in service. The reason for this is Lake Charles' close proximity to the Texas border and Texas' ban on casinos. So, they bus Texans in by the thousands! There are some festivals and attractions that can satisfy most people for a couple of days, but don't make any long-term reservations! The population is listed as ~72,000. I'm not sure how this is maintained!
