If you don't want to spring for the one of the quaint B&Bs in the old town, Super 8 Motel will do. Service as good, and a continental breakfast is served. It has easy access to the freeways in the area. Parking is good, and there's plenty of open field around the hotel to run the dog. If you want to sleep the dog overnight in the room you'll pay an additional $10-. Otherwise, even during winter, the cage in the car was warm enough for the dog to sleep in his cage comfortably. I don't know what summer is like though. There's a hill on the south side, and the hotel building is oriented in a north-south access though, so it's possible that shade will come on the east side parking pretty early in the afternoon. Access to the old historic district is only a couple minutes away, and some rooms have views of the lake across the expressway. Call the motel directly for best reservations, although the Super 8 number will do as well.
The room is standard for Super 8 Motel, including clean bath and color television. The queen sized room was adquate for our needs.
