  • A spoiled View

The owner has painted a huge bright yellow square on the road directly in front of the property to block parking. Not sure if this is legal, but it has certainly spoiled the view of the building and street. Its an obnoxious, thoughtless addition to the public property in front of the building and takes away from the charm of the street and guests' stay. If the owner wants to provide a historic, local experience, he should remedy his act of disrespectful graffiti.

Unique Quality: A spoiled view. Could be fixed though.

We stayed at the B&W for our honeymoon. It was perfect and I will definitely stay there again. They have managed to create a small chunk of paradise right in the middle of a chaotic city. The courtyards are lush and the room was very well appointed. There were several unique features and many personalized extras. The French Quarter was a very short walk away, but cab fare was also cheap ($6 from Bourbon). The neighborhood has a great restaurant, The Praline Connection. Rob and Kevin are excellent hosts.

Unique Quality: Fine linens on the HUGE bed, jets in the bathtub, festive decorations (no motel mauve here!), hardwood floors, tropical courtyards, excellent light breakfast, fountains, quiet neighborhood, easy walking distance to the quarter, fresh ice in the room when we arrived, large hot tub with fresh towels. Many many many more details.

Directions: Fauborg Marigny--Chartres Street. Cab fare from Bourbon-$6. Walking time from French Market-6 minutes.

What a GREAT first B&B experience!

by A TripAdvisor Member

Since this was our first time at a B&B we really don't have other B&Bs to compare it to. But I can tell you this, it DEFINITELY beats staying at a typical, cookie-cutter hotel/motel. As our first B&B, we were EXTREMELY pleased with the accomodations, service and ATMOSPHERE. The PERSONAL TOUCHES like the personalized welcome letter with tips & advice, weather reports, and local map were wonderful! We loved the courtyards with fountains and private entryway to our room. It was more like a RELAXING HOME than a hotel. Rob and Kevin were so welcoming we felt like we were long-time friends. You can't miss joining Rob, Kevin & other guests for breakfast. The food presentation is so gourmet and pampering! And best of all are the morning chats around the breakfast table. B&W is so conveniently located that everything is within walking distance. Since we've been spoiled at B&W, I don't think we'll ever stay in a hotel again! Check it out for yourself, you won't be disappointed!

A Delightful Stay with Wonderful Hosts

by A TripAdvisor Member

My husband and i were having our first kid-free vacation in ages and this was the perfect spot. After having experienced Rob and Kevin's hospitality and the authentic charm of their B&B I can't imagine staying at a chain hotel. They were dead on with all of their food recommedations. And they were a pleasure to chat with over breakfast and over the phone. And, when we left our camera in the room and had already gone to the airport, they were proactive enough to leave us a message letting us know they had found it and were sending it home to us. We received it a few days later carefully packaged and all in one piece. When trying to find a room for New Orleans, I found others that were less expensive but just chatting with Rob on the phone made me realize this was the plan...and I have no regrets. They were wonderful, as was our stay.

Live like the locals

We booked what the B&W calls a "corporate apartment", just next to their B&B units which was a two story town house with loft bedroom with fully equipped kitchen and nice decor. I was skeptical because we had our little girl and the neighborhood, down below the quarter in Marigny, had been rough the last time I was there. It turned out to be great. You'd pop open your shuttered front door and face a nicely restored street of historic homes where people live, bicycle, walk dogs and plant flowers. It's a good hike to the heart of the quarter but well worth it. The guys who run it are nice and helpful. They have all kinds of rules like charging your credit card well in advance of your arrival which may cause concern, but we were really satisfied with the place.

Go on, try it out !

Have visited New Orleans more than a few times, and the B&W Courtyards was maybe the most memorable place we've stayed. If you're not traveling w/ kids, and don't mind a 10 min walk to the quarter, Don't stay anywhere else !! We only managed breakfast one morning out of four (due to some late nights out), but the conversation w/ the owners (and the homemade granola) make it well worth it if you can manage the early hour. Rob & Kevin were fab--friendly, entertaining, knowledgeable about the city's dining, drinking, events, just everything !! Our room, though oddly shaped with a bath for the entrance, was sooooo nicely furnished with incredibly lavish fabrics, antiques and a magnificent bed, remains our favorite lodging of all our stays in N.O.

Highly Recommended!

Our stay with Rob and Kevin at the B&W Courtyards absolutely was the highlight to our stay in New Orleans. Aside from the marvelous accomodations and close location, the great conversation and personal suggestions of things to do helped make our stay super relaxing and enjoyable. Absolutely charming!

Very Special and Unique

by A TripAdvisor Member

I was quite taken back by the beauty and quaintness hidden behind the old plum wooden door on Chartres. Very private, secluded and architecturally unique. Cottage style accommodations nestled among tropical plants that surround fountains of beauty. The sound of overflowing water adds to the creation of the wonderful atmosphere. Rob and Kevin are incredible hosts. Both are quite knowledgeable about the New Orleans area that reading up before your arrival is so unnecessary. You are provided with hundreds of sightseeing, eating and shopping ideas. Much more than could ever be accomplished unless staying for months. It is not only the uniqueness of this place that calls us back but the wonderful hospitality and personal touches.
It will be a trip remembered!

Consummate Hosts

by TripAdvisor Member PTJukes

I felt like I was staying with friends, Rob and Kevin were the consummate hosts, paying attention to the details that make all the difference, but most importantly treating us all individuals, tailoring their recommendations and suggestions, about what to do in New Orleans, personally to each of their guests.

The neighbourhood was quiet and interesting, yet was only yards from the bars on Frenchman and only a few minutes from the French Market and the French Quarter.

Staying in a “real” home rather than just another square-box, hotel-chain room made the New Orleans experience special and fun – and Rob and Kevin’s tips and advice certainly made me realise that I should have stayed longer and explored more….whilst enjoying the hospitality offered at the B&W Courtyard.

Fabulous Southern Hospitality

Just back from a fabulous few days in New Orleans.
B&W Courtyards is ideally located for a trip to this city. Rob and Kevin are fantastic hosts. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they made us feel really welcome from the moment we arrived.
Their recommendations for things to see and do went way beyond the standard tourist information and gave us valuable 'local knowledge'.
The accomodation is high quality and even has a hot tub to large it in after a hard days sightseeing!
I would certainly stay with them again!!

Fabulous. Rob and Kevin make the B&W courtyards a home from home. I would suggest a trip to New Orleans just to stay with them. Lovely neighbourhood with Frenchmen street just a couple of blocks away and the lure of the French Quarter only 10 min walk. Your hosts will regale you with stories and recommendations so much that you will need to return. You will do so and gladly.
