New Orleans, Deep South?!? by jadedmuse
You think you're in the Deep South - and you are, but New Orleans deserves to be recognized in a class by herself, thanks in part to a uniquely European cultural legacy mixed with Haitian and Creole influences. So, while I acknowledge that New Orleans is geographically located in the South, I refuse to categorize her as a typical representation of The Old South, even though she retains elements (racial and otherwise) of it.
Nowhere else in the United States will you see such beautiful, "cafe au lait" colored skin tones as in New Orleans, paired up with gorgeous blue, green and hazel eyes...here is where you'll come face to face with true Creole offspring.
New Orleans is simply...UNIQUE!
