The room was roomy and clean, the staff was friendly and helpful.
The hotel said they had wireless Internet, I only found wired Internet which was slow! Good thing I brought my own wireless router!
Unique Quality: Being across the street from the Morial Convention Center was a big bonus because between sessions, I could go back to my room for a rest.
Directions: Between St. Joseph and N. Diamond St.
We are planning a trip to New Orleans in November. We prefer to stay at motels because my husband is partially disabled and you can park your car right outside you room for easier access. I see there are several motels in Matairie on Airline Hwy. Are the any motels in Kenner or Matairie or other outlying areas of New Orleans that are clean and in a good, safe area. Can anyone recommend one over the other??

Unless Airline Highway has changed drastically in the past few years (and I doubt that it has) it is still a place to be avoided. That is unless you are planning on staying just across the road from the airport which is not bad if you can take the noise. Airline Highway gets progressively worse in terms of safety and atmosphere the nearer you get to New Orleans with most of the motels being those which specialize in having porno movies in every room.
You would be much better off trying a place like the

Motels on Airline Highway are extremely sketchy (except for the ones across from the airport), and I would not recommend any of them unless budget is extremely tight. (Some are the type that rent rooms by the hour.)
One of the more convenient locations that has a number of hotels is where Causeway Blvd. crosses Interstate 10 (in Metairie). That's about 10 minutes from downtown, assuming light traffic, and is near lots of places to eat on Veterans Blvd. and Lakeside Shopping Center at Causeway and Veterans. Around that intersection you will find: Hampton Inn, Ramada Limited, La Quinta, Residence Inn, Quality Inn, Holiday Inn, Landmark, and Extended Stay America, as I recall. Some will be listed on I-10 Service Road, Causeway, Galleria or Severn. Don't know for sure which have better wheelchair access, however, so you'll have to check that out.
