Reasonably priced, good location
Just an hour after we checked in, I requested a room change because the sheets on our beds looked like they were not replaced after the last guest left...they were all wrinkled and small hairs on them! Fortunately, the front desk staff gave us a new room.
Since we only had carry-on bags on our flight here, we couldn't bring some toiletry items as they were liquids . Fortunately, the hotel provided free shampoo, toothpaste, shaving cream and antiperspirant.
They had a pool, gym, complimentary breakfast, WIFI and newspaper (USA Today). Vending machines and ice dispensers at each floor. Each room has an electric iron and ironing board, coffee maker but no personal safe.
I would certainly recommend this place for budget-seekers.
Unique Quality: The hotel is just 2 blocks away from Canal St. and the French quarter, and a block away from St. Charles St. where the streetcar runs. Not much stores or restos around it though.

Helpfulness
Worth Your Money
was pleasantly surprised to find out this hotel exceeded our expectations for the price we paid. for a group of four, our room was huge!!! we never bumped into each other nor fight over the mirror :-)
the location was the best part bec its only a few blocks away from bourbon st. but still within the french quarters. a short stroll that you (or anyone drunk for that matter) will appreciate after a late night out.
Unique Quality: large rooms, friendly staff, free breakfast, location
We stayed at La Quinta from Feb 19 through the 23 and found the hotel to be much better than the 2 stars it is rated. My son was not feeling well the first two days and so we posted the Do Not Disturb sign so he could stay in the room all day. The housekeeping staff left us a bag of clean towels on the second day, which we really needed, but had not asked for yet. The room was a nice size and very clean. The only small complaint I have is that the shower in our room had a very weak spray. The desk staff were very pleasant and helpful, and the location is great. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

We flew into New Orleans a day early for a cruise, and wanted a hotel within walking distance to the French Quarter. This place was ideal. It was 2-3 blocks from Bourbon St! Was it the Ritz? No. It was clean, it was comfortable, and the staff could not have been more helpful. I would certainly recommend this hotel. We were jammed up a bit with choices b/c there were 2 conventions going on in town President's Weekend, but I am very happy with our choice.
Very pleased with stay!!!

Just returned from a 2 night stay at the La Quinta on Camp St...have to admit that this is the nicest La Quinta I have ever stayed in! The rooms are large and nicely decorated....and very well maintained! The staff, especially Ashley at the front desk and our bellman, were the nicest and most accomodating I have ever encountered in many visits to New Orleans hotels. Great location to walk to sites and felt safe in the area. Thanks to the gentleman working the continental breakfast which was more than expected...you kept up with the large group very well. Only negative to our visit was a group of loud, obnoxious young males staying across the hall, but that was not the hotels fault. Will definitely stay here again.....thanks for an overall, a great stay!!!
2nd visit .. great again

Second time I have stayed here. This is a Inns and Suites hotel so it is nicer than your hotel/motel on the highway. The lobby is nice and clean and the staff is somewhat friendly. Rooms were big and full size beds were plenty big for 2 adults. Nice location outside of the quarter but close enough to walk back at night. Breakfast is great with waffles, sausage, cereal, juice, etc.. Hoever they are only open 7-9am. For a hotel with no flavor I recommend this one. Rates are decent around $130/night.
La Quinta - Loved it!

We booked a room online (at an excellent rate) after reading the reviews for this hotel - we were not disappointed. The service was excellent, the staff attentive and friendly. The location made it just a short walk to the French Market area for coffee and beignets, or to the Riverwalk Mall (for coffee and beignets, without the ambience). La Quinta on Camp Street is the nicest hotel that we have stayed in while visiting New Orleans, I cannot speak too highly of it, good value all around, it will definately be our hotel of choice on future visits to this city.
Not a big fancy hotel name, but has the fancy quality of one.

Stayed there for 6 nights. Great price, great value. The rooms are big enough and clean. Breakfast is complimentary (pretty good). Local phone calls are free of charge. Good location, nice staff. Can't come up with anything really bad.
You will not be dissapointed

We felt lucky to have found this hotel. It is about afive minute stroll to either the waterfront or Bourbon street. Quite and safe. We were glad we did not rent a car, as we did not need one. Parking would have cost more than the taxi.
Great pet friendly hotel

Just returned from a 3 night stay. Booked hotel on advice of others on this website after looking for reasonably priced hotel that took small dogs in a good location. It was all of that plus. We were most happy to be upgraded to a suite upon arrival. It was great for our little dog. Hotel was very nicely furnished and clean and staff was great. Price was very reasonable. I would definitely recommend hotel to those with pets or without. You would never know there were any pets except for a bark or two every now and then. The only downside is that there is no real green space near the hotel for pottying the dog. There is however a park a few blocks away but was always full of the homeless sleeping on the ground which you see in any big city. That made my husband a little uncomfortable. Also didn't like $19/day parking fee but cheap hotel made up for that. We will stay there again if we ever return.
Q:1st visit to New Orleans "In October 2012 my husband and I will have Sat. and Sun. in New Orleans before we cruise on Monday. What are the 'must see' sites..."
A: "If I was in N.O. for the first time my list would include;
1) Streetcar- Take the street car from Canal Street along the amazingly beautiful route. Its only $1.25 or..."
