Highlight of the day was the this trip up the Dorcheat Bayou with Norris Canoe Outfitters.
Floating in this canoe through a cyprus tree choked bayou is a fascinating experience, especially when combined with Chuck Norris's story telling. Chuck is the owner of Norris Canoe Outfitters, a great tour guide, he is passionate for his work, and will make sure you have a great time there!

The Bossier/Shreveport Mudbugs are a professional ice hockey team that is a member of the Central Hockey League. This winning team plays 32 home games from Nov. through March at CenturyTel Center in Bossier City, LA. These guys are really great and extremely fun to watch.
Some of you might know Olive Garden as the Italian restaurant chain, however, this Olive Garden stands out above the rest. I've eaten at Olive Garden's through out the South and this one is by far the best. It's a brand new building and is very well kept. The food is amazing here and the atomosphere is even better. It's a non-smoking building though, so you smokers will have to go without for a hour or two. I love the artichoke and spinach dip as an appetizer. I then usually order a nice glass of wine to go with my chicken parmesan. Their capachino is wonderful and try the chocolate lasagna for desert...
The Red River District is located in downtown Shreveport under the Texas Street Bridge and is not very large. It is supposed to consist of great events, dining, dancing, and live music on the weekends. It's okay but nothing to cheer about. It features daiquiri bar Wet Willie's and the Funny Bone Comedy Club. There is also a few restuarants. The bands do not play during the winter and after a certain time at night you must be 21 to enter the area.
Barnwell Garden & Art Center has a domed botanical garden conservatory with tropical plants, seasonal and native plantings. There are also some art displays on the walls, but not a large amount. The visually impaired can experience the Fragrance Garden and those looking for a peaceful walk can stroll through the adjoining Riverfront Park.
