Arriving Shreveport
by vigi
Apr14, left New Orleans early in the morning, taking the 6am Greyhound bus to Shreveport. The bus was 1.5 hour delay departing from New Orleans, reason was being the bus breadown. We were stuck inside the bus for 1.5 hour, while they have many empty buses parking in the terminal, well, I don't unerstand why they cannot just simply transfer all the passangers to another bus. Anyway, the driver was able to catch back some time and eventually, the bus arriving Shreveport at 3pm.
Sci-Port Discovery Center
by vigi
Sci-Port Discovery Center is just few minutes walk from the Red River Cruise Pier. We come across this group of school kids. They are so cute, posting for pictures. From this picture, you can see black rudes here in Shreveport (perhaps in Louisiana?). They have many interesting games inside the Sci-port, and my favourite is iMax, which is the only dome cinema in Louisiana.
Barksdale AFB Eighth Air Force Museum
by grandmaR
Homebase to both the B-52 Stratofortress and the A-10 Thunderbolt II, Barksdale is an important air force base in United States. Outside the museum, twenty-eight aircraft are on static display, including the P-51 Mustang (photo 5), the B-17 Flying Fortress, the F-84F Thunderstreak, the B-47 Stratojet (photo 2), the KC-97 Stratofreighter, the B-52D Stratofortress and the B-29 Superfortress.
Bob took a lot more photos outside of the museum than I did because I was tired. I walked back to our Inn unit and left him taking photos. He has one of the MiG 21F (photo 4), and the Lockheed Shooting Star. There are more photos in the Bossier City travelogue

Burrito... Go Naked?!!!
by vigi about Cool Beans Mexican Restaurant
All the ingredients for burrito, taco and salad building are spread out like a punctured pinata. Fixings include marinated, grilled meat such as anco adobo Steak, chipotle mojo chicken and achiote pork barbacoa. Flaky shells for salad are an option, but you can "go naked" and just have salad without the shell. Choose from saut?ed sweet or hot peppers; refried, vegetarian black or pinto beans; cilantro-lime rice pilaf; roasted potatoes; jack cheese; sour cream and salsa, and watch as the staff magically crams all that food into tortilla, taco and burrito shells.
A little reminder, the portion here is HUGH! Even bigger than normal American size. You may consider ordering one dish to share between 2 persons, don't waste food.
Barnwell Garden & Art Center
by keeweechic
Barnwell Garden & Art Center is on the downtown riverfront. It is one of the few combined art and garden centres in the Southwest. There is a small domed botanical garden conservatory housing tropical plants and seasonal and native plantings. There is a Fragrance Garden, for the visually impaired. Surrounding the centre is the Riverfront Park.
