If you are looking for anything remotely cajun or exciting this is not the place for you despite what the teen Miss USA pageant propaganda (It has been held in Shreveport the past two years) says, though it isnt a horrible place.
Minor Baseball is in full swing in Shreveport! One of the fun activities that could be classified as sports travel OR nightlife in Shreveport is to go watch the S'ports! (note that the name of the team is also the abbreviated spelling of Shreveport!
Sarah and I went to the game on Visor Night, as evidenced by the picture below. Also, do not be afraid if the promotion when you go says limited to the first 1000 people... because we were able to get 2 visors each... since not 1000 people were at the park. So please go out to bid on Ebay for our other two hats!
The Port is located in northwest Louisiana at the head of navigation on the Red River. The Port of Shreveport-Bossier is one of America's fastest growing multimodal inland transportation and distribution centres.

Trip up Dorcheat Bayou with Narris Canoe Outfitters was really a great unforgettable experience. You'll really want to check out is their 37-foot cedar reproduction of the huge canoes used by 18th century French Voyagers during the heyday of the fur trade. This massive canoe can hold up to sixteen people and their supplies quite comfortably.
