It's always amazing to see how others on our big planet live their lives. I was intrigued by the River community and their simplistic lifestyle. The swamp tour guide was sharing how many of the houses on the river do not have roads that get them there. They must park at the car at the docking ramps and then get on their boats to get to the houses. Isn't that interesting? Here, I just pull into my garage.
Makes going to the grocery store not seem so bad anymore.
The guide on the Honey Island Swamp Tour was so helpful. He kept making sure we had our cameras out so we cold get the perfect picture. He would stretch out the marshmallows and hotdog weinies so all sides of the boat could get a good pic. He kept saying that we paid too much not to have some great shots. Very neat guy.
Boy, how close they get to the boat! The guide always says to keep fingers and toes INSIDE the bars...our appendages look a lot like the hotdogs they feed the alligators. :)
The anticipation is killer. You start seeing the ripples and know they are coming!
How beautiful and powerful they seem when they ge close to the boat.
Interesting to think what we are feeding them.....puffed sugar balls...
There are many different alligators who come for a visit, then 10 minutes later go back off.
