Encore on the Waterfront
by Gilfeather
The concerts on the Penobscot river-front are a blast and walks down along the water are always enjoyable. For his encore, Arlo Guthrie performed "City of New Orleans", and a Bangor and Aroostook Railroad train with many boxes slowly passed the concert area 40 feet from the stage right on cue.
Brilliant.
Synchronicity or planned? I still don't know to this day.

"A great place from which to see much of Maine"
We have visited Maine twice and have stayed in Bangor both times. It has a good location close to may of Maine's sights and is large enough to have many of the "needs" of tourists. It actually gives the appearance of being a much larger town than it is (a population of about 33,000).
