A wonderful stay!

My family just got back from a 5 night stay at the Bar Harbor Motel. We absolutely loved the property. We stayed in the family unit room. It was clean, spacious, and welcoming. The staff were friendly and always willing to dispense advice, suggestions and answer any questions we had. We also thoroughly enjoyed the hot bar available for most of the day. We will definitely return!
A Great Welcome!

Our family stayed here in August for 3 nights after traveliing up from Boston via Camden. The welcome at the reception desk was friendly and informative. Our room was clean and spacious and not far from the outdoor swimming pool, which was heated to a nice temperature. The laundry on site was very useful, especially after a day's biking on the carriage trails. Hot drinks and plenty of information regarding things to do in the area and places to eat (with sample menus) were availalbe in the reception area.
The Motel is within walking distance of Bar Harbor - visit Jordans for a wonderful breakfast served by friendly staff and then rent a bike and cycle the wonderful carriage trails in Acadia National Park!
This Motel is well worth a visit and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Very nice motel

We went on a 13 day road trip throughout the New England area and stayed in 8 different properties (read lots of tripadvisor reviews to book our rooms!)
After staying in an ocean view property in Boothbay Harbor, Maine, we were looking for a bit cheaper lodgings in Bar Harbor. The Bar Harbor Motel is truly one of the nicest motels I have stayed at during my leisure travels. The rooms are large, immaculate, mini fridge, iron and board, a/c, and nothing looks worn or tired. In addition, the Bar Harbor Motel is located on the shuttle bus route to Bar Harbor. The village of Bar Harbor can become very crowded and parking is scarce. The shuttle takes you right into the heart of town.
Bar Harbor Motel is located on the main road into town. Across the street are expensive ocean front properties. The Bar Harbor Motel is divided into four room units. I would advise you to request a room as far away as possible from the highway. We were four units back and could still hear some highway noise. Other than that, all was GREAT and I would definitely stay here again!
Great Motel!

My family stayed at the Bar Harbor Motel last weekend as part of our vacation to Maine. I made the reservation based on the reviews from Trip Advisor. All of the posted reviews are accurate in describing this motel. The motel staff is extremely friendly and accomodating. Rooms are large, clean and comfortable with updated furnishings. The property is nicely landscaped and my children loved the heated outdoor pool. The motel connnects with a hiking path into Arcadia National Park. From the motel, it is about a 5 minute drive to the visitors entrance of Arcadia National Park and 5 minutes into Bar Harbor. For breakfast, both Jordans and Jeannie's in Bar Harbor are excellent choices. Overall, the Bar Harbor Motel is an excellent value and we plan to stay there again on our next visit.
Really great bargain

I was swayed by the reviews I had read on Tripadvisor to make a reservation here for a recent trip to Bar Harbor, and I was certainly pleased with my decision. Do not be concerned that it's a "motel" -- it's a great bargain for what you get! Our room was spotlessly clean & had all the major amenities -- even a mini-fridge! The beds were pretty comfy, too. It was an excellent stay; I will definitely return.
wonderful place to stay

We stayed at the Bar Harbor Motel for four nights. The rates didn't break the bank and yet the rooms were very comfortable. The grounds are well kept and the rooms were immaculate. We loved the cottage arrangement--felt like we had more privacy and no intrusions. The owners were very helpful and provided all types of information on the area. We enjoyed hot chocolate every night.
There is a gift shop on the property that has a good selection. We went to some of the restaurants they recommended and were not disappointed. We wil certainly stay there again if we are in the area.
Loved it!

Just returned from a week at the Bar Harbor Motel. What a lovely place! The staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Great location - Just about a mile from downtown Bar Harbor. Love the coffee bar in the lobby. Can't beat it for the price. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
Awesome stay, great for the price

This place is one to stay when you are in Bar Harbor. We made reservations here a week or so before our stay and had a split in prices -- from on season to off season. Both were good prices for what we got.
We got a two-room family sweet, which was excellent. Both rooms were large, the beds were comfortable and the whole place is in a peaceful and quiet setting.
We stayed for four nights and it was a great stay.
The place is broken up into several four-room buildings. The nice part about this is that you don't have to worry about a lot of people running around your place. The parking lot is small for each place with enough space to fill the cars for that particular building.
The front desk is extremly helpful and have great knowledge for the surrounding areas. They were friendly to deal with at any time we called. All the menus and brochures at the front desk were great to be able to leaf through. They also have a small gift shop, a place to sit if you'd like and even some warm drinks (we didn't take advantage).
The rooms were clean and comfortable. Each of the rooms in our family suite had their own temp control. Each also had a TV, which was nice.
The bathroom was a little small, but managable. The water pressure in the shower was excellent.
Location is good, with just a couple minute ride into the village. Once you're parked there, it's easy to get around on foot. It's also located close to the Hulls Cove entrance to Acadia.
They also have a laundry available, which could be handy, but we didn't use.
All in all, a great place to stay. I would stay there again if I return to Bar Harbor and wouldn't look anywhere else if I didn't have to!
Small house units - large rooms - huge kindness

This is a quite traditional, common looking but nonetheless extraordinary place to stay in Acadia Ntl´park. The BHM is such a great find. The friendly staff opens your heart, the inexpensive rooms looked like new and the area is magnificent. Right at the end of the site leads a path you into the woods. Easy access to nature - i wish i´d find this more often. Bar Harbor ist beautiful and Mt. Desert Island offers something for everyone. Don´t forget to great the sunrise from Mt. Cadillac - you´ll be the first on american soil to see the sun that day. The BHM is a perfect place to go in both direction - in 5 minutes you´ll be on Main Street or within seconds on route to the mainland. you won´t be disappointed!
