Unexpected Find

We just got back from a short business trip to Maine and stumbled upon the Quimby Inn situated in the quaint village of Bar Harbor. The Innkeepers were very welcoming as we arrived during a heavy snow storm. All rooms are non-smoking and kept extremely clean! The guest suites are appointed with a king-sized bed and colonial style furnishings. The spacious room was large enough to relax before retiring for the evening. We highly recommend the Quimby Inn for a short or long-term visit, while enjoying the warmth and hospitality of Bar Harbor's local residence!
Best Inn we ever stayed at

We have stayed at the Quimby House many times on our trips to Bar Harbor. It is by far the nicest hotel and has the friendliest staff of any hotel in Bar Harbor that we have stayed in. It is conveniently located to the downtown, within walking distance of all the attractions. Tom and Gale are always willing to help out with recomendations on sights to see or restaurants to dine in. The rooms are bright and cheery and well appointed. The staff keeps the place in emaculate condition at all times.
We will plan our trips around the availability of room at the Quimby House. If it is full we will vacation another time when we can stay there. If you don't stay with Tom and Gale you will miss out on one of the true pleasures of being in Bar Harbor. It is a must place to stay.
Bar Harbor's Best

Definitely the "best" in Bar Harbor. We have been to Bar Harbor numerous times, but this was our first time at the Inn, but definitely not the last. The staff were friendly and helpful and you will not find a cleaner place anywhere. We have recommended the Inn to our friends and family members and cannot wait to return hopefully in the Fall.

If you stay anywhere in Bar Harbor you have to stay at the Quimby House Inn. I've been traveling to Bar Harbor for several years with my parents. Now I bring my own family to enjoy the island. The Quimby House Inn is the best location I've stayed at. We have stayed there over the past three years and never once had an issue. Tom and Gale are wonderful
innkeepers and run a top notch inn. Great Loacation, clean rooms, easy parking friendly staff. I am greatly looking forward to this years visit.

My husband and I just spent three fabulous nights at the Quimby House and we can't say enough about it. When you book reservations sight unseen, it's a little unnerving not knowing for sure what you're going to get. The TripAdvisor comments were all so impressive but could it really be that good and at those rates? Believe me, it was. What's most important to me is cleanliness, comfort and quiet and Quimby House measured up on all those points. But what you get in addition is location (within walking distance to the harbor, downtown, restaurants and shops) and charming decor and a sweet, wonderful staff that have answers to all your questions or will knock themselves out trying to find one! Thanks Tom and Gale for a wonderful weekend (despite the rain!).
Love the Quimby House

My husband and I have had the privilege of staying at the Quimby House on 4 separate occations. Our trip to Bar Harbor would not be complete without staying with Tom and Gale. On every visit we are always amazed at how much we love staying here. It has such a great location, easy walking distance to all the great places in Bar Harbor. Gale and Tom (and Addie and Dante) always greet us warmly and make us feel like we are "home." The rooms are always exceptionally clean, questions easily answered and hospitality is A+. We love the Quimy House and can't imagine staying anywhere else!

Very nice, very good value

Just got back from a very nice three day stay at the Quimby House, and we would highly recommend this for anyone looking for a nice, clean room, great location, and very nice people. Very informal atmosphere, and the folks at the desk were very helpful. It is a short walk to town so you can avoid the hassle of trying to find a parking place downtown.
We stayed two night in the annex, which was a nice room with a small sitting area/porch and a kitchenette. Nice room, clean, comfortable. We stayed the second night in the main building overlooking the street, a single room, nice size, but it got noisy very early in the morning with trucks going by towards town. We live on a main street in a smaller town, and thought we'd got used to the noise of the morning rush hour, but this was louder, and made sleeping later a challenge. Still, all in all, a very nice place. We plan on going back next year.

We loved the Quimby House Inn. Was one of the nicest & cleanest place we have ever stayed. The rooms were so clean and the decor was very beautiful. The location of the Inn was also great and if you did not want to drive you could just leave the car parked. The neighborhood was quiet and being able to sit outside on the decks and play cards was great also.
The entire staff was just able to be themselves and we had a blast with all of them. Personality was always there. Their recommendations of places to visit & resturants was wonderful also.
We would go back and stay longer.

Four couples went to Bar Harbor this summer, and we stayed at the Quimby House Inn. It was absolutely wonderful! I honestly have no complaints with the establishment. It was conveniently located. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The owners were so courteous and friendly. They really made you feel at home. They were helpful with information concerning restaurants, activities, etc. If we go back to Bar Harbor someday (and I certainly hope we do!), I would definitely stay here.
Nice Hotel for the Price

The Quimby house was as advertised in tripadvisor. Decent rooms, location and prices. Renee at the front desk was very nice. However, the owners were not very welcoming. Almost never smiled or greeted us. Maybe having a bad couple of days. Overall, I would recommend.
