More about Blue Heron Seaside Inn
Beautiful Views, Beautiful Rooms!
Stayed at the Blue Heron for the Winter Festival last year. Laura and Phil were very gracious hosts and prepared a great breakfast spread every morning! We enjoyed the incredible views from our room over a few glasses of wine as snow fell across the harbor. We will definitely be making a return trip and wouldn't think of staying anywhere else!
Greatest spot in Boothbay, pure and simple!!
Brand new rooms remodeled from floor to ceiling and wall to wall, great view of the harbour, walking distance to town - one block, and Phil and Laura Chapman who know the area and have great recommendations. We stayed there three days in late Sept 04, and plan our next trip longer at the Blue Huron. A great value. We were surprised at how wonderful it was for the price!! We feel it is underpriced for what it offers!!
Stayed for 2 nights in early October in the "Harbor Lights" room. We loved the view! Great location. Room was spacious and clean with freshly washed linens. Phil and Laura were truly warm and genuine people. They are native to the area, and they offered great tips on eateries and sightseeing during breakfast. Hope to return there real soon.
Loved the Blue heron
We just returned to Seattle from a carefully planned first trip to the Maine coastal cities of Boothbay Harbor, Camden, and Bar Harbor. Although every aspect of the trip was good, there is always something that will stand out as the best, and that was our stay at the Blue Heron. This Inn is everything you see on the website and more, and we were certainly pleased with our choice. The building is impeccably restored, located on the harbor with a lovely rear lawn, and personal dock, and has a great view right down the harbor to town. You will be mere minutes from the city, as well as from great restaurants and shopping.
We had room 6, the top floor corner, which had a large patio, chairs and table, and settee on the deck. Our room was beautiful and spacious, the bed very firm and comfortable, and the bath large. Our room had a remote control fireplace, fridge and microwave, and all the little niceties that took a great deal of thought. Tissues by the bed, hand painted wine glasses, quality sheets - all the little unexpected things that make a room special.
The owners - Phil and Laurie Chapman - were especially gracious, and provided a lovely breakfast each morning. The Inn is filled with interesting antiques, collected from the owners many years of travel abroad and the English china used for breakfast was a real treat. Every detail has been considered for the comfort and pleasure of the guests. We will definitely try to get back to the charming town of Boothbay Harbor, the Blue Heron, and to revisit the Chapmans.
Delightful Inn, beautiful waterfront view from rooms. Very clean, nicely decorated, comfortable, delicious breakfast with takeaway tray if you prefer to eat from your deck with the beautiful views. Lovely hosts, very informative and helpful. Great location in Boothbay; walk out front door to restraunts, shops and more beautiful views.
Beautiful Room with a View!
The Blue Heron Seaside Inn is an absolute must if you want an elegant Maine harborside experience!
Boothbay Harbor is my favorite stop along the coast of Maine. In an unscheduled visit to Boothbay, I was fortunate to stop at the Blue Heron Seaside Inn B& B to inquire about a room for a night. What an amazing stay...this home is newly restored and the craftsmanship is extraordinary for a B & B. Every room is wonderfully appointed with furniture from all over the world. Best of all, every room has an amazingly unobstructed view of Boothbay Harbor. The views from the first floor are as expansive as those on the second and third although the height gives you more of the "birds eye" view!
Laura and Phil are the owners and hosts. They are friendly and know the area well. If you are planning to go to Boothbay, I highly recommend this B&B. Staying at the Blue Heron Seaside Inn you will be conveniently located within one block of the quaint art galleries and unique craft and gift stores. Kayak rentals, boating, and restaurants are less than a 5 minute walk and you can see many of these businesses from the deck outside your room. Be sure to frequent the new Coffee and Wine Bar next door...the cheese plate and chocolate dessert fondue are to die for! This is a great place to go for dessert after having that favorite seafood dinner on the wharf.
Oh yes, Phil makes "Vickery French Toast" on Saturday mornings so plan to stay at least until then! It is amazingly good. I am certain that this will become one of the signature events at the Blue Heron! I can't wait to return with my family for no less than three nights next summer.
A great place
A great place to stay. Comfortable, convenient to local interests, great view and wonderful hosts. Laura and Phil were always helpful and have made the Blue Heron a great place to stay.

Lovely B&B with view of harbour
We enjoyed a very relaxing stay at the Blue Heron Inn in Boothbay Harbour. Wonderful view of the harbour, right in the heart of the village. Our room was very clean, large and had a wonderful deck. Breakfast was delicious and our hosts, Phil and Laura were very helpful. Phil is a native of the area, and has some interesting stories and suggestions that really made our trip special. The gorgeous flowers adorning the front of the inn are truly a labour of love. We would highly recommend room 6.
Relaxing at Boothbay Harbor, Maine
We just returned from one of the most relaxing and refreshing vacations that we have ever taken. Boothbay Harbor is a quaint fishing town located half way up the rocky coast of Maine. We stayed at a newly renovated bed & breakfast called the Blue Heron Seaside Inn. It is located near the inward part of the harbor on the waterfront. A blue heron was actually feeding on fish during a duration of low tide. The inn is located in town with easy access to local restaurants and activities. We had the opportunity to attend an early evening concert that was performed by the local community band. The owners of the inn, Phil & Laura Chapman also provided excellent recommendations for local activites from touring a coastal lighthouse, senic harbor and surrounding area cruises, to a breath taking sunset at Ocean Point. My wife and I would heartily recommend a stay at the Blue Heron Seaside Inn at Boothbay Harbor, Maine.
25th Anniversary Getaway
From the moment we laid eyes on this picturesque bed & breakfast, we knew we were in for a wonderful experience! The flowers were beautiful, enhancing the old-fashioned charm of the original front of the house. The rear had neat decks with a fabulous view of the everchanging harbor. Our room (#2) included a relaxing jacuzzi and a comfortable queen four poster bed. The breakfasts included Phil's delectable french toast and Laura's fresh homemade bread. We can't wait to go back again!
