More about Captain Jefferds Inn

A wonderful Inn

by TripAdvisor Member auntdab

We just returned from a wonderful weekend at the Captain Jeffords Inn. The staff were very friendly and warm. My elderly parents stayed in the Chatam on the first floor and we stayed in the Katahdin located on the third floor. Both rooms were beautifully decorated, well kept, and very comfortable. The staff were very accommodating to my father's dietary needs. The livingroom was comfortable and had a working fireplace where we enjoyed sitting after returning from dinner. The garden room had a TV where my dad was able to watch his Red Sox and snack on the brownies, cookies, or cheese and crackers that were available all afternoon.

Perfect end to a great trip

We stayed in the Assisi Room last week while finishing up a trip down the Maine coast (where we also stayed at the Blue Hill Inn in Blue Hill and the Inn at Sunrise Point in Camden, both of which I will review soon). The inn itself is absolutely spotless, the entire staff was among the friendliest and most helpful we've ever encountered, the grounds were beautiful and our room was lovely (and a bit quirky with the indoor garden and fountain, which actually really worked with the decor). We missed breakfast because we needed to catch a plane from Boston, but we woke up that morning to muffins and water waiting in a bag outside our door for the drive. While I wasn't a huge fan of Kennebunkport (although we did have an excellent meal at Grissini's), if I ever return I'll definitely stay at the Captain Jefferds Inn.

Captain Jefferds is a keeper!

by TripAdvisor Member WHH

Just returned from three nights at this first class B&B. The innkeepers were gracious and extremely helpful and eager to please. There is an acute attention to detail at this establishment in a positive and relaxing manner. The location is PERFECT for walking into town, sightseeing and dining. Parking at the B&B is sufficient for most activities. The rooms are thoughtfully appointed without the "cuteness" and clutter found in some places. The breakfasts were delicious and bountiful. Overall a very good value and a place to which we shall return.

Perfect Getaway

What a beautiful Inn. From the spotless, comfortable room (we stayed in the Chatham room), to the scrumptious home-cooked breakfast each morning, to the super-nice innkeepers, Erik and Sarah, you can't go wrong staying here. We met wonderful people at breakfast each morning, and had perfect weather to enjoy all KPT has to offer. Thank you to all other reviewers - you gave me incentive to book here over the other similar local Inns.

A Charming Atmosphere

by TripAdvisor Member NBCT2005

This was one of the few B&B's that had 2 beds in a small suite, perfect for friends (not couples) traveling together. The ambiance was charming, the rooms immaculate, the linens soft and fluffy and the breakfasts were delicious. The staff was extremely helpful and courteous at all times. I would certainly return.

Beautiful and well worth the money!

We are a couple from Germany and stayed in this Inn for 3 nights in September06.
The inn is lovely and well kept. Eric and Sarah and their whole staff are polite, helpful and make you feel very welcome. We stayed in the Florida Room and it was lovely and clean, the room was affectionately decorated and the beds and sheets and covers were really nice, fluffy etc.
Breakfast is served in various courses, so different and much better than any hotel buffet breakfast!
I totally recommend this inn! Thank you again to the innkeepers, you made our stay in Maine unforgettable to us.

The Best B&B

by TripAdvisor Member stonetravel

Captain Jefferds was a fantastic B&B. They are ideally located, within walking distance to town, and the accommodations were excellent. Probably the best B&B we've ever stayed in. We were there for our anniversary and they had a half bottle of champagne on ice in our room when we arrived. They were very accommodating and honest on restaurant reservations and recommendations. We loved reading and relaxing by the fireplace with some wine in the evenings, and the breakfasts were excellent and filling. The afternoon snacks, cookies, tea and hot cider were a nice touch. Highly recommend this B&B!!

Good choice

by TripAdvisor Member Namaste928

Very nice inn. Beautiful rooms and dog friendly if you are a well behaved owner (and you should be!). We used to go when Dick B owned it. We enjoyed it much more then. Dick and his wife were very sweet and the rooms were reasonable. The new owners are nice but a bit standoffish. The room rates are significantly higher and I'm not sure it's worth the extra $$. The breakfasts have been scaled down significantly. It's very close to Kennebunkport though and as I've said the rooms are beautiful and the whole inn emanates peace.

Favorite hotel / B & B in Kennebunkport

We've been coming to the captain jefferds for several years now. It's one of the prettiest of the old sea captains homes in Kenebunkport. The rooms are beautiful and the service and food are excellent.

Excellent Inn!

by TripAdvisor Member flmama

Absolutely wonderful expience at Captain Jeffords. We frequent B&B's and this is the best one yet. Comfy bed, great food and great hospitality! Also, a great location- walking distance to "downtown" Kennebunkport. Since they are technically an inn, they accept children- a rarity at B&B's. We brought our 8 month old daughter, and they treated her as another valued guest. We're already planning a trip for next fall. Can't wait to return!
