perkins cove, hop on the...
perkins cove, hop on the trolley or walk to this tiny fishing village. we loved it so much that we found a bed and breakfast in the cove and stayed there each time we returned. we stayed at 'the dunes' resort the first time my family went to maine. My parents used to take me there when i was a baby, but i obviously can't remember that far back. I was five and we had to row across a water patch between the dunes to get to the beach. dad miscalculated the tides and we ended up walking back as the tide was out, instead of rowing. actually, honestly i think dad had to carry me because i didn't like the feel of the muck between my toes. what was i thinking because i would give anything to feel it now.
Italian at it's best!
Nestled in downtown Ogunquit among the rustic shops and businesses you'll find a dream come true at The ImPASTAble Dream...
Great Italian food with a menu that gives you excellent discriptions of what you're going to get. Check out their menu. It's pretty hard to have a favorite when you've only eaten there once so far, but I can tell you that what we had was delicious and I can't wait to go back again!
Ogunquit, Algonquin for Beautiful Place by the Sea
"One of my childhood's magical places"
This is a place that holds a large space in my memories.
Running away from the waves, in case something terrible would happen ( you never know), and to jump right in at the next moment. To play in the small ponds low tides would leave behind, where the water is all warm and the sand produces tiny tiny riples. To be able to make the grandest sand castle with a kid you just met and with whom you've become instant friends. to be able to ride the waves atop an inflatable matress, like it is the fiercest of all sea horses, and you the greatest rider ever seen. To have your kite finally take off to the skies and not stoping till it reaches the sun and takes you along for the ride...
One day I hope that I will have kids to be able to share all of that magic again with them...
"The best way to enjoy a sculpture...in it's shade"
Just kidding, I love art for itself. Having grown up partly in my gandmother's art studio. And so, going from one art exhibit to another. But who said it couldn't be fonctional?
"Very proud of finding The Hole amongst holes!"
More to come on this location, partly more recent pictures!
