I was pretty impressed with the Sand Castle!! I don't know if it was from a competition or if someone was just being creative but it was a work of art!! You can see the beautiful Atlantic ocean in the background!!

Old Orchard's Hidden Jewel
I stayed in the Grand Suite with my family earlier this year and it was phenomenal. I had business up in Portland a few weeks ago and I went back to the Seacliff to stay. Off season is different from full season, because it is much quieter, but being open year round is great for people like me and anyone who wants a weekend getaway. The grand suite was booked but I stayed in the jacuzzi room closest to the ocean. WOW -- there was a view of the ocean from all three windows. What a beautiful sight!
This was a great room and I could walk down my steps and right onto the boardwalk to the beach. After traveling back and forth to Portland every day, it was so nice to come back to my room and look at the water. It wasn't as warm as the summer, but that didn't stop me from taking many walks on the beach in the early am hours and after my work day.
The manager and his wife remembered me and rolled out the red carpet. The jacuzzi was nice too, relaxing at night before going to sleep. Maybe when I come back up in January, I can try another room. I wouldn't mind trying all of the ocean view rooms, just to say I stayed in all of them. I will be making even more business trips up from MA in the spring and I will take advantage of the seacliff's hospitality every time!

Aquaboggan Waterpark
Aquaboggan is Maine's biggest waterpark and it's located just a 10 minute ride away from the beach, in Saco. There's a nice variety of waterslides, along with a large wave pool and an aquasaucer, which turned out to be everybody's favorite water attraction! If you buy an all-access Super Pass, you'll also be able to play miniputt, go for a ride in the bumper boats, or race in the Go karts. On Mondays and Fridays, you'll save about $10 on your pass.
The only thing we found rather surprising is that the park closes when it rains - who cares about the rain when you want to get wet?!

Old Orchard Beach was first established in 1653 , its first settler was Thomas Rogers , who called this beautiful spot " Garden by the Sea".
The sailors called the place "Old Orchard " after an apple orchard that was sitting on land high above the sea and easy to see.
In 1842 the first steam railroad from Boston-Portland brought tourists to this lovely beach.In 1892 events included electric trolley cars, a Beach Kite Horse Racing Track, and the first Merry-Go-Round in Amerika.
Old Orchard Beach is looking forward to the near future for the return of AMTRAK train and planns an 400' extension of the pier for whale watch cruises and other water sports.
