Cozy B&B

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on April 2, 2006

I stayed here during the off-season, so except for one other guest, I had the place to myself. I enjoyed reading on the top floor in a small, cozy room- I wonder if there would have been other people reading there if it was a busier time. The man working at the inn as I checked in was amazingly friendly and was helpful with dinner suggestions. The inn is on a quiet street with beautiful architecture, within a few minutes drive of the port and main business area. I had a choice of rooms (all between $80-90)- all of them were very comfortable, but in my opinion, overly decorated (but this is my first time staying at a B&B, so maybe they're all like this). Breakfast was average.

Unique Quality: cozy reading room on the top level, comfortable beds, quiet street

Not your typical B&B

I went with my boyfriend for a long weekend and fell in love with this inn. This is not your average, chintzy b&b. The decor was funky and bright, the guestrooms were outstanding, and the beds were to DIE for. Isabel Smiles, the owner and operator, has created such a lovely place to stay. Welcoming, romantic and private...I can't wait to go back.

Unique Quality: The beds were so comfortable and I wish we had slept in, instead of going down to breakfast. The artwork is so unique and funky. I really enjoyed the splashy handpainted wallpaper in our room. We had a huge king-sized bed in front of a gas fireplace, perfect for getting cozy with someone. We were greeted with a glass of wine, and the service could not have been better.
