It was fine, 3-night stay

Not sure what critics mean about the part of town. We had 2 rooms, about $70 per night.

Housekeeping staff needs an update, do not disturb sign on the door when you are at breakfast....ok to come back later, sign is gone. Desk staff apologetic, accommodating....coffee packets, towels, whatever you need. Those whining about WiFi and internet access.....it's a motel, it's not your house. You need all that, stay at home.

Clean, comfy, cable TV, bathroom...it's a place to stay on a road trip.

Close to downtown without downtown prices

The rooms were adequate, about what you'd expect from a place like this - we had 2 beds, a mini-fridge, a television with basic cable, a sink, and a small bathroom which had just a shower and a toilet. There was also a pool, although we didn't use it.

They do not offer breakfast, but there is a Denny's literally right next door (on the other side of the parking lot, you can walk there).

Our rate was around $83 a night (after taxes and everything), which we split, so I'm marking the box below as "$40-$80" since it was only ~$42 each.

It was a decent location to stay in Portland without having to pay the premium rates to be right downtown, as it is only about 4-5 miles from the downtown/harbor area. It's too far to walk, so your options are to either drive down there and pay to park in town or to take a cab, which cost about $14 each way. For parking, there are a lot of meter spots to use as well as some lots where you can pay anywhere from $5-$10 to park for the whole day. Some parking is free on Sundays and after a certain time on other days.

There are also a few things around the hotel. Besides Denny's, there is a Ruby Tuesday which has a bar and also a small shopping center with a grocery store and a few other shops.

Overall, we had a nice stay here and would recommend it.
