More about LimeRock Inn
A Pleasant Surprise!
My wife and I were very pleasantly surprised this past weekend by the excellent accomodations at LimeRock Inn. We were just looking for an overnight place to stay while exploring this lovely area of Maine and picked the LimeRock based on their website. We found it to be truly pleasant - much better than expected. It is a roomy, charming place, has many little touches, and the breakfast was far above the norm for B&B's - not just good but mouth watering. However, the really special element is Frank and PJ. They are totally service oriented, totally upbeat and fun to be around. We've stayed in many, many B&B's over 25 years, and LimeRock sits among the best.
Felt Right at Home
My husband and I spent a night at the LImerock Inn on our way up to Mt. Desert Island. PJ and Frank were wonderful hosts and made us feel like old friends. The accomodations are beautiful and the breakfast was great. We will certainly stay there again!
A great B&B
A great B&B - 16 Jul o6
The LimeRock is a great B&B. Having stayed at a number of B&B's throughout the US and Europe, the LimeRock rates near the top. It is within walking distance of downtown Rockland and all of the activities it has to offer. Frank and BJ are outstanding hosts. Very friendly and never too busy to visit with their guests. Frank prepares an outstanding breakfast and his 'chocklate chip scones' are a specialty. If you are in the Rockland area make sure you spend some time at the LimeRock
The Greatest Hosts!
If you go to Rockland, Maine you should stay at the Limerock Inn! The hosts, Frank & PJ are the best. The rooms are extremely pretty and well within the character of the home itself. The Bed & Breakfast has a great breakfast menu and Frank is a tremendous cook. We were only there for two days but plan on returning. Don't miss it!
Grace and Dave
We were very pleased with this elegant but very comfortable and homey Victorian B + B in Rockland, Maine, which is famous for the Farnsworth Musem (think Wyeth). Friendly innkeepers, nicely decorated rooms, airy windows, big porch, great ammenities and delicious breakfast. We wished we were staying longer. PJ and Frank will help you plan your touring and book your restaurants. Go to Primo if you can!
The helpful and friendly innkeepers and the nice touches (bottled water and snacks available during the day) made this a very nice inn. The inn is well furnished, and unlike many inns, has good reading lamps if you want to read a book or a magazine. The breakfast in the morning was excellent, breads, eggs benedict crepes, etc. The inn is also a short drive to Primo, one of the best restuarants in Maine. The only negative was there was little street traffic (but everyone goes to bed early so it doesn't continue that late).
The Limerock Inn is a beautiful inn and its owners PJ and Frank were very welcoming. The breakfasts were delicious and the dining room was definitely conducive to conversation with other guests, which was a lot of fun. Our room was clean and comfortable. Lack of air conditioning in the room made us a bit warm during the day, but the nights were cool enough so that we slept quite comfortably. The free snacks, drinks and computer access were nice touches. We would definitely recommend the Limerock to anyone who is travelling in the Rockland area.
The wife and I stayed at the Limerock Inn for over a week straight---So, we might be more qualified than most to give an accurate review.. :)
To make a long story short, we can't say enough good things about our stay -- It was absolutely perfect! The Inn is quiet, comfortable, and beautiful, and you'd think that The LimeRock's inkeepers (Frank and P.J.) had been doing this all their lives -- It *that* good.
The first "good thing" is the location -- The LimeRock Inn is in a really good spot.. It's situated in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance of downtown Rockland. Everything you might need is a pleasant 5 minute walk away.
The house is a real gem -- clean, tastefully decorated, traditionally furnished, well maintained, and classy both inside and out.. Within a day, we already had a really wonderful "ahh, we're home!" sort of feeling about the Inn. The room was clean, and the bed very comfortable, with an absolutely excessive amount of pillows... Just perfect!
The breakfasts were spectacular..suprisingly top-notch, $50-a-plate sort of cuisine. That was probably the most impressive part of our stay. Every morning was something different, unique, and wonderful, prepared with care and individual attention. Even choosing your tea in the morning is a delight -- A wooden tea box containing probably a dozen or more different brands and flavors is brought to your table and presented to you by hand! Nice touch! :)
As I mentioned above, Frank and P.J. are excellent hosts... Sociable, pleasant, and very mindful of their customers without being at all intrusive..We felt like absolute royalty while we were there.. It was nice to feel so pampered--We will definitely be coming back in the years to come.
100 out of 100 and worth every single point of that 100.
B&G in Tucson!
A wonderful B & B in Rockland, ME
We discovered the Lime Rock Inn through it's web site. It appearted to be a typical New England B & B, in other words, a charming older mansion with a lot of "personality", filled with beautiful antiques and a promise of great hospitality from the innkeepers. After staying there, we can only say that this B & B more than lives up to its billing. The house IS beautiful, the antique furniture is beautiful but functional, and Frank and PJ, the innkeepers, went out of their way every day to insure that each guest was delighted. The atmosphere is informal--warm and friendly. It's like staying with friends you've known for years. Every breakfast is a new experience, in the best possible sense. The best part for us was discovering that Frank and PJ are experts on the Rockland area. They know the local restaurants, activities, and attractions as well as any big city concierge. Every recommendation was exactly the way they described. We'd recommend this place to anyone.
Maine should be proud!!!
Limerock was the best expierence I had on my six day trip to the East Coast. I can say that it was like staying with family that you like to stay with. I was greeted by PJ whose warm and friendly personality made us feel right at home.
There was plenty to do in the area and they helped make reservations and have maps and directions to the local light houses. They are truly excited to serve and make every day enjoyable. I was sad to leave and think about their friendship and hospitality. Maine is such a beautiful state and to have this establishment with PJ and Frank as the hosts of the Historical Limerock Inn makes this visit for us extrodinary.
Thank you so much for making our trip relaxing and comfortable.
