Loews Annapolis Hotel
126 West St., Annapolis, Maryland, 21401, United States
This is for the elite in hotel stay. My stay here has been wonderful and exciting on every occation. I would recommend this hotel each and everytime...
Unique Quality: The hotel is right across the street from My Brother's Keeper barber shop and trade school... the only existing black owned barber shop business on that block of west. It used to be Chambers barbershop--however, The Rapture Cathedral (Bishop Coates Presiding Prelate) made a leap forward to help keep the traditionally black business and develop a new facelift with the trade school.
Go East on West Street
I have not stayed in this hotel. I took the picture before I was aware that it was a hotel while my husband was driving me to try to get a picture of the capitol. This hotel is billed as a luxury hotel, where you can stay in a "Commodore Class Stateroom"
They have an interesting offer on their website
With Loews Advance Purchase Reservations, offered exclusively here on www.loewshotels.com, you can be sure of saving more when you stay with us. When you make a reservation at least 22 or more days before the date of your arrival, you can get 15% off Loews Best Rate.
Unique Quality: It has self and valet parking but I don't know if there is a charge for it. AFAIK they don't have a pool.
More about Loews Annapolis Hotel
We stayed at the Loews Annapolis Hotel for two nights in July of 2006. Although there was a lot of construction going on around us, our room was top notch. The mattress was more comfortable than any we've found in any 5 star hotel. The staff was extremely courteous and quick to respond to any requests.
With the exception of a confusing check in (we were assigned the same room as another guest, but the other guest was alerted before we actually opened his door), everything was wonderful - so comfortable and so clean. We would definitely stay at the Loews hotel again.
Nice, clean Hotel
Just spent a weekend get-away at the Loews. Annapolis is a great town that I've visited several times, however this was my first stay at the Loews. It's a very nice Hotel with just a short walk into the downtown area. Carrie at the front desk was exceptional helpful upon check in and really made my wife and I feel at home. Our room was a corner suite that I found to be quite nice. The room was large, clean and the bed was very comfortable. It was also very quiet. (2 weddings had occured earlier in the day and many, many guest were staying at the hotel and also spending a considerable time at the bars).
I dont think you'll be disappointed staying here....
Good Hotel, Great Location.
I understand what fellow reviewers wrote about when they said it was not the most luxurious place (it is supposedly one of the best hotels in Annapolis)... it has a cheesy sail-theme vibe going. It is not going to knock your socks off. However, it is clean and the beds are comfortable. The room service was good; I enjoyed my order. The service was very helpful - the front desk and the valet service was quick and efficient. The absolute best part about the hotel is the location. It is a few minute stroll to restaurants and shopping - walk another five minutes and you're at the harbor. I personally enjoy leaving my car behind during a weekend getaway and this hotel definitely allows you to get around Annapolis with ease. I really found nothing to complain about and I would stay there again next time I am in Annapolis.
Somehow leaves you wanting more
We just spent the weekend in Annapolis and stayed at Loews. The strength of this hotel is its staff. They were friendly, warm, well trained and helpful in every aspect of our stay. The location is fine with excellent restaurants in the immediate area though it is a longer walk to the historic area. The room was comfortable and clean, but nothing special. We had two double beds rather than queens. We asked for an upgrade to a king but there were none available this particular weekend. My wife had very little hot water for her shower. The front desk staff said that they would "note it". The property itself is well maintained but lacks character.
None of this would be overly problematic at a lower price level but when the fare is in this price range, more is expected such as a killer location, a beautiful pool area, a larger room or some charm and character. Worse yet, the cost of the room can quickly escalate when you add on additional charges. Internet access is an additional daily charge ($10 daily) as is the parking ($16 per night).
In the end we had a perfectly adequate experience but I would not consider this a luxury 4 star property.
We always stay at the Loews Hotel because the staff is excellent, the rooms are clean and well appointed, it is a great location and the price is always reasonable. Annapolis is a great weekend destination for us! Great food and fun in a beautiful setting!
Great location, very pleasant stay.
We came to Annapolis for the weekend in large part to see a concert at the Rams Head Tavern (great venue for acoustics), and I chose the Loews largely on location relative to the concert venue (1 block away). Turns out the Loews location is great for the rest of Annapolis too -- a short walk (less than 10 min) walk to the State House, shopping streets and harbor. I also thought the hotel itself was a very nice find - it's particularly pleasant if you're not in the mood for the somewhat claustrophobic B&Bs that otherwise make up the in-town lodging options, and by signing up for the Loews frequent stay/rewards program, we were treated to a quite decent bottle of red wine and nice plate of nuts in our room when we checked in. (One of the other options was cookies!) The room was stylishly appointed, and the bed was very, very comfortable.
My two teen daughters and I stayed here for two nights and had a wonderful time. Prior to coming, I contacted Colette the concierge who spent a great deal of time giving me tinformation on Annapolis and steering me to the highlight of our stay, the Schooner Woodwind sailboat cruise. It was the hotel staff that really set this property apart. Emily, the reservations mgr. took care of our booking needs, the bellhop was extremely helpful as was the valet. I have been in Annapolis many times before but never stayed in the city. It was definitely worth not having to rent a car and pay subsequent valet costs. Even the onsite restaurant, Breeze, was good for our first night's dinner when we were tired. We were able to walk downtown without any problems. They have a shuttle on weekend nights as well. There are many small, upscale restaurants in the upper part of West St....we enjoyed Cafe Luna. All in all, our stay exceeded our expectations.
Way more than we expected
I have stayed in a few b&b's in annapolis, but thought they were a little pricey for what you got, so this time I used priceline to bid on a hotel. I was trying to get the Marriott waterfront, but got Lowes Annapolis for $150 a night instead. IT WAS FANTASTIC. A short walk to town. How many hotels have real plants in the rooms??? This one did. We had two double beds with white bedspreads, gutsy, and they were spotless. We had a red cushy chair with an ottoman in our room. It overlooked the center indoor courtyard where we watched a wedding. The bathroom was amazing. Blue glasses, nice soap, very VERY clean. Apples at the front desk. They made reservations for us at Carols Creek for brunch, $22 DON'T MISS IT. We had dinner at Cafe Normandie, get there before 6:30 for the early bird special, app dinner and dessert for $25, best deal in town. Great crepes! The hotel even wrote us a hand written thank you note with our reservation confirmation for dinner. Free ice cold lemonade and cookies in the lobby. What else could you ask for. We would stay again. Down side, bring your own pillows, they were very tall.
