Main Street
Main Street is exactly that, one of the major roads downtown.
Yet that's not the cool thing about it. As you stand at the top of it, it goes down hill straight to the water giving the effect of sailing boats going across the bottom.

Students at the USNA are called 'midshipmen,' not cadets. There are a lot of traditions and a lot of very specific elements to everything they do (ie. insignia on their uniforms). It's better to ask your tour guide what it all means, mids don't really like to be pestered with such questions. They are students at one of the best schools in the country, and deserve to be treated with a little respect - they're doing a lot more than most college students.
Also, don't try to challenge them with your knowlege of military and/or naval history; unless you are a joint chief or otherwise a leading expert in the field, I guarantee they know more than you.
Just in general be respectful of these fine young men and women.
Pulling out of the river into the Bay provides a beautiful view of opne of the US' most unique and beautiful towns, Annapolis. The green dome seen to the left in this photo is the Chapel of the United States Naval Accademy.
The gelato here is very good and they have a great selection. They let you have samples beforehand so that you can make your choice. Also check out the pastries and the beverage selection. I go here every time I come to Annapolis.
There's nothing better than a great day sitting and peoplewatching at City Dock with your gelato. Personally, the lemon gelato's my favorite, but the caramel and wild berry's also good. My friend got a milkshake version. I'll have to try that next time.
Local spot with local flavor and grease. Long history in Annapolis. Favorite spot of ours from high school at 2am. Was open 24 hours, but now has restricted hours and usually a long line. The service is rather rude, but it is all about the atmosphere!!!!! Usually the food items are named after local/national politicians. Have fun! potatoes.
