The BWI Marriott is a very nice hotel close to the airport and lives up to the Marriott name. It is not an economy hotel but one many business travels prefer to use. The service is great and the staff very helpful.
The airport is about eleven miles from downtown Baltimore so this hotel is better suited to those who need accommodations for the airport. If you are touring Baltimore, it is recommended that you get a hotel closer to town. Nearby is the train that can take you into Baltimore, but it is just much more convenient to be closer to town.
The general area of the airport is full of business class hotels and the services that go along with them. Other than that, there isn't much to see in the area of the hotel. Restaurants tend to be chain type restaurants and nothing really special. There are a number of government contractors that are among the businesses in this area and this hotel is a favorite of those coming in for business.
The hotel is close to several main highways and would make a good overnight stop on the way through town, perhaps on a longer journey. It is near 295, I-95, and 695.
