"Locals" Favorite Pub ?
by willow0325
Heading to Inner Harbor for a 2-3 business trip in a few months and hubby will be joining me. We love to explore the places that only the locals know about. A cold beer, delicious crab cakes, burger -- you know the kind of place I mean. Needs to be in a walkable and safe area from the Marriott. What are your suggestions? Thanks so much!

http://www.lpsteamers.com/ LP Steamers,1100 E. Fort Avenue, is a great place for crab lovers another local bar is Kelly's at 2108 Eastern Ave. It's a bit of a walk so I would suggest taking a cab. I went to a VT meet there several years ago and these were where the local VTers took us.
Travel Tips for Baltimore
Port of Baltimore
by Ewingjr98
The Port of Baltimore consists of the Dundalk, Seagirt, Fairfield, North and South Locust Point Terminals. Baltimore is one of the deepest ports in the Eastern US, and it is within an overnight drive of about a third of the nation's population. The World Trade Center building in the Inner Harbor hosts the Maryland Port Administration and numerous companies that operate out of Baltimore's ports.
Dundalk Terminal at 570 acres is Baltimore's largest terminal and it is the hub of transportation of Volkswagens into the US.
The 275-acres Seagirt Terminal opened in 1990 and features seven huge cranes that can handle just about any cargo quickly and efficiently.
The 100 acre Fairfield/Masonville terminal is leased entirely to Daimler-Chrysler for import of automobiles into the US.
North Locust Point is tiny, with just 25 acres of space, and it handles mainly forest products, grain, and latex.
South Locust Point is 79 acres in size, and it handles mainly forest products, as well as ships for Carnival Cruise Lines.
Fells Point - Homicide: Life on the Streets
by littlesam1
The television series Homicide: Life on the Streets became an international success in the late 1990's. The location used for the scenes at the police station house is located in Fell's Point. If your a fan of the series you can your photo taken outside the station house and also see the plaque commorating the filming of the series. The station house is located directly on the water front and is easy to locate.

Orioles Baseball at Camden Yards
by Ewingjr98
Oriole Park at Camden Yards opened in 1992 and it set the standard for design and comfort in modern American stadiums. It is located just minutes from the Inner Harbor by foot, and only two blocks from Babe Ruth's boyhood home (now a museum). The 50,000 seat stadium was built by mow-famous stadium architect HOK at a cost of just $110 million. The park blends modern amenities with traditional design elements, as the architects borrowed design inspiration from historic stadiums such as Ebbets Field (Brooklyn), Shibe Park (Philadelphia), Fenway Park (Boston), Crosley Field (Cincinnati), Forbes Fields (Pittsburgh), Wrigley Field (Chicago), and The Polo Grounds (New York).
As of 2009, single game tickets start at just $8 and go up to $60 per seat. The cheap seats are pretty bad here, so I'd get the cheapest tickets you can find and just wander around. The best place to watch the game is behind the bullpens in left-center field. You can stand here all game without being harassed by the ushers.
