BWI to inner harbor

by drandy

What is the best way of getting to Inner Harbor from BWI for a family of four?
How much is the taxi fare (including tips and tolls)? Thanks for your info.

By taxi will probably cost you $40-$60 dollars. It is about 20-30 minutes by car. You can also go via supershuttle but the disadvantage there is the multiple stops along the way and the per person charge. There is public transportaion available as well with the bus being the best way.

I've had at least two bad experiences with Supershuttle, one in NYC and the other in Baltimore. Getting from the airport isn't a problem but going back they didn't pick me up in Baltimore and in NYC they were really late, some of the people on the shuttle with me missed their flights. Plus I think you'll find that a taxi will be cheaper for 4 than four people riding on an airport shuttle. And certainly more direct and no worrying about whether they are going to pick you up for the return trip.

Thanks guys, for the great advice, guess taxi will be the better choice, cheers!

Travel Tips for Baltimore

Painted Fish or Crabs Around Town

by AKtravelers

Over the past few summers, the cityscape of Baltimore has been marked with giant plastic fish or crabs painted with a variety of designs -- e.g. a monk fish painted as if he were a Francisan friar. In 2005, the animal of choice was the crab, which is the seafood of choice in Baltimore due to the bounty (now rapidly diminishing) of the Chesepeake Bay.

OLD ST. PAUL' S CHURCH

by LoriPori

Located at Charles and Saratoga Streets, OLD ST. PAUL'S CHURCH, is fondly known as the "Mother Church of Baltimore". The current building, Italian Romanesque in style with many Tiffany windows, dates from 1856 and is one of the city's architectural gems, as well as a symbol of a vibrant failth community in the Anglican tradition.

Its a blue collar city Hon

by littlesam1

Baltimore is definately a blue collar city. This is what makes it different so interesting. Stick with the local restaurants in Fells Point and other parts of town and stay away from the chain restaurants. You will definately get a good feel for the city this way. Don't be surprised if your waitress calls you "Hon". Everyone in Baltimore is a "hon". Recently a waitress at a restaurant in Fell's Point left her pen on the table for me to sign my credit card. I think the inscription on the pen tells the story. Baltimore is a great blue collar city.

After you take a tour of this wonderful place. If you have enough time, you should watch a game. What I found so neat is it was just within walking distance from my hotel. It is just down the street practically of the Inner Harbor, so if your staying close you have all these wonderful things to do and see at your door step. Fantastic!

From Washington D.C., Virginia and Points South: Take MD 295 (B-W Pkwy//Russell St.) to downtown Baltimore. Continue onto Russell Street and turn Right onto Lee Street or Hamburg St. just after Ravens Stadium for Lots F, G, H. or turn right on to Pratt Street to parking garages and lots in the city

Inner Harbor Falls

by Yaqui

This lovely falls is at the entrance of the Inner Harbor at the corner on Light Street & E Pratt. Street. It attracted me right away, because you can walk behind it without getting wet. Lovely feature.
