Hilltop hotel.: very nice hotel in harpers ferry.

In Harpers Ferry we stayed at the Hilltop Hotel.
It's a very pleasant hotel in an old historic building and you have a great view from there.
It's certainly not the cheapest place in town, but if you feel like splurgeing then this is a pretty good choice.

Holiday Inn.: Holiday Inn in Cumberland

In Cumberland we stayed at the Holiday Inn, mainly because one of our travelling buddies had booked it in advance.
Normally i would probaply have camped there, but it was good to get a proper shower and a good rest for the night.

Centrally located and all the basic things you have in a tourist hotel.

C&O bicycle shop: Nice campsite/hostel in Hancock.

The C&O bicycle shop in Hancock has camping space and a bunkhouse where you can kip down too.
There are hot showers and toilets and the place is run by a very friendly guy who also has a well stocked bikeshop.
In my opinion this is a must to stop by there if you are cycling the canal as they owner of the shop is a goldmine of information about the trail and very friendly.
