What can I expect weather-wise in later October in Crisfield?
It is fall. Sometimes the weather is quite warm and sunny (Indian Summer), but it can be cold and sunny or cold and rainy. We live right across the bay from there, and we have an Oyster Festival the third weekend in October. I'd bet on the weather being good but maybe windy. Here's the averages

Eat seafood (photo 2). Pick up seafood to go. (Some markets will pack it in ice for traveling.) There is a fresh seafood store under the restaurant (photo 3 advertising steamed crabs) where I took this picture on the outside deck (photo 4 and 5)
Take a cruise to Tangier or Smith Island.
Fish or crab. Bait and licenses can be obtained in hardware stores or bait shops. The city dock has places for doing both.
Visit a seafood plant and watch the processing of soft and hard crabs. Free tour if available - inquire at Somerset Co. Visitor's Center.
Go birdwatching. I haven't been to this, but it should be a good source of information

Take a walk around the marina (about a mile to the end and back) and admire the boats. Check out the charter fishing.
Watch the activity at the docks at 12:15 when the boats are getting ready to leave for the islands.
Take Cedar Island Sanctuary kayak & canoe wildlife and photography expedition through the marshes (inquire at Tawes museum)
Swim in the Brick Kiln area
Rent a kayak or canoe from Tangier Sound Outfitters. Or rent a motorboat at Croaker Boats 410-968-0300
Although Annapolis is "Crab Town" in CB lingo, the real crab town in Maryland is Crisfield.
The street signs in Crisfield all have an outline of a crab on them. This one was on the corner next to The Cove Restaurant. I don't know the significance of Charles Adams Corner.
