Best Western Invitation Inn: Convenient for a dog

by easterntrekker

Best Western Invitation Inn
Phone: 410-679-9700

We stayed here on our drive to Florida. With a discount coupon our rate was $58.00 for two people. Its an easy access to SR40 and I-95. Only minutes from Bel Air and Havre de Grace, this hotel features executive board style meeting space, complimentary deluxe continental breakfast, game room, weight room, on-site laundry facilities, an outdoor swimming pool, and Vitali's Restaurant and Lounge. Great rooms at great rates it was also wonderful if you have a dog as you can get a ground floor room with an outside door.

AmeriSuites - BWI: Don't arrive hungry

by olsson

The hotel was undergoing renovations which we were never informed about. Amenities were scarce. The hotel double billed us and it took 2 weeks to get that cleared up. I do not recommend this hotel unless you are very desperate.

No restaurants or food available at hotel or within walking distance.

Fair transfer service between the airport and the hotel. Shuttle driver did seem pre occupied with picking up hotel staff so that he could take them to work.

Knights Inn in Jessup, Maryland: You pay for more than you get...

by ArenJo

For the first room I went in, I couldn't get the lights to work. I switched room and got a much better room. The room was fine, but I still don't think it was worth $55 a night. Plus, non-smoking rooms are cheaper than smoking rooms, so my non-smoking room smelled like smoke. When I went to check out, I was charged for "miscellaneous" and "un-limited local calls" even though I never picked up the phone and no one knew what the miscellaneous charges were. So, I would NOT recommend this hotel, but it isn't the worst place I have ever stayed.

JACOB ROHRBACH INN: 19th CENTURY CHARM, 21ST CENTURY ACCOMMODATION

by mtncorg

The Jacob Rohrbach Inn makes a perfect base from which to venture out to the battlefields of Antietam, South Mountain and beyond. The house dates back to before the Civil War. The Rohrbachs owned a farm just east of what is today the Burnside Bridge - it was then known as the Rohrbach Bridge. Following the battle, the Rorhbachs bought this home in town to retire from farming. Eventually, the house came into the expert hands of Joanne and Paul Breitenbach who have converted this beautiful home into a first class bed and breakfast. The bedrooms are very comfortable - some with nice decks. Outside, you can sit or stroll through parklike gardens. Mountain bikes are available to rent and the C&O Towpath close at hand. Possible rides could include Harpers Ferry or out over the Antietam battlefield. A great place to trim your sails and gain a 19th Century perspective while enjoying 21st Century comfort.

Phillips Beach Plaza Hotel: On the beach baby!

by tpangelinan

Slept 7, full kitchen, fridge, stove, pots and pans, glasses, plates everything. Even had dish soap and towels. The view was priceless! We listened to the ocean at night while going to sleep. You wake up to the smell of bacon cooking at Phillips Restaurant. The rocking chairs on the front porch are heavenly!

Susse Chalet: That's how they spell it, folks

by b1bob

I had never heard of Susse Chalet before the January, 1994 business trip. Nevertheless, it was cold and ice was coming down the night before the next day's liquidation. We weren't sure if the weather would let us carry on with it, thinking we would be just slip sliding away. Any hotel with a working heating unit would have done for that night. It was a much nicer hotel than what we usually get on these trips.

Motel 6: They leave the light on for you

by b1bob

On 16-17 November 1999, we were liquidating a grocery store in neighbouring Brooklyn Park just across the Patapsco River. The hotel room was small and cozy, just the way I like it. However, there were two problems. First, the climate control unit was stuck on roast. Second, they must have applied cleaning fluid to the room with a shovel. This is not to disparage the whole chain, but when you are in Southern Baltimore and surrounds, pass this one by.

The only thing that stands out is its proximinity to the Baltimore Washington International Airport.

Quality Inn: Quality Inn

by b1bob

From 6-8 June 1994, my boss and the entire staff were here on business for 3 days preparing to auction off a store in a building that was about to be demolished. The hotel itself was a standard national chain with nothing positive or negative standing out. At the end of each day, the hotel, no matter how nondescript, was a welcome sight.

Its location was about the only thing that made it stand out. There is a Pargo's Restaurant on sight, so we knew where to go for supper the first night there. Also, Security Mall is within spitting distance.

Still Chez Nous: Still Chez Nous

by msazadi

Tip Photo
Chez Nous of course!: Chez Nous of course!

by msazadi

You won't see this unless you are a visitor but it is something we had commissioned as a wedding gift to ourselves. There may be other painted walls in Annapolis, but this is in our backyard! The garden is long - 200+ft and narrow - about 25ft across so this is at the far end from the house.
