OC Wine Festival
by xstacey
I must admit, i wasn't sure where to list this tip. I didn't feel the Wine Fest was a tourist trap since it was full of people that appeared to be from the area. I would definitely not recommend making a special t plans to attend this festival. The few wineries there were were all local (VA, DC, etc) and most did not offer, to me at least, good quality wines. There were two NY State wineries that were pretty good, but that's about it. The number of wineries and booths alone were not sufficient to even call it a festival. I think there were only about 5 or 6 of them. Sitting on a blanket outside the festival in the sand watching silly people who drank too much wine.

You don't need a boat to fish in this town. You do, however need a surf fishing license.
I never see them pulling them in on the beach like we see them reeling them in at the inlet! The water is choppy, and the rocks make you snag up once in awhile, but the fish...big as my arm! Fish at the inlet, that's the spot! If you don't know, buy a book.

To get your gambling fix, yeah we r still waiting for slots, the freakin State Gov't can run the numbers/scratch-offs, but won't legalize slots, JOKE....
But there is, for now, a Harness track outside of O.C.Md, Ocean Downs. think they run 4-5 nights a week..
Also almost ever Bar has KENO in it.

Normally I don't go to Ocean City, as just lying on the beach doesn't appeal to me. But my work group has occasionally held meetings there, and my oldest son-in-law habitually vacations at Bethany Beach each year, and we sometimes go down to Ocean City from there.
