A Capital close to the Capital and the Capitol
"The Center of Rockville"
Rockville is the capital city of Montgomery County, a county that is adjacent to Washington, DC. This city dates back to the mid 1800's and saw some troops from the south pass through on their way to Gettysburg, PA. Currently, the Montgomery County government resides in the city center.
"Rockville, the Light of the World"
I got curious about the statue of the woman with a glowing light. It was done by a historic organization of neighbors in Rockville. The title of the sculpture is "Rockville shines light on the World". Now, that's an example of grandiose thinking, right out of the novel "The Atlas Shrugged". Very nice center square, I liked the statue, I think it is pretty original. A very nice movie theater too.
